OUR MISSION:  LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.

ORIGIN: Mark 12:29

The teachers of the Law asked Jesus “Of all of the commandments, which is the most important?”

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’.  There is no commandment greater than these.”

FOCUS: Homeless men & women in the Five Points area of downtown Atlanta.

Concept provided by experience: Homelessness is often caused by drug and alcohol addiction.  The addiction occurs in an attempt to medicate depression or low self esteem.  The depression or low self-esteem is normally the result of abusive childhood experiences.  Through knowledge of Christ individuals find they are forgiven.  This is true not only for the homeless but for all of us.  The process of forgiving oneself can then begin.  The steps are accepting Christ, forgiving oneself, having the Father & Christ involved in our lives daily, recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, learning to live daily, seeking employment, and finding housing.

By spreading the message of Christ and his love first we have found that sobriety, responsibility, self worth, housing, and employment always seem to follow.
